Cass, as she likes to be called, is a talented geneticist. She is in her senior year at the Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds, and has already been accepted to Betterthin University, a leading scientific university halfway across the country.

Because of her fiercely independent nature, her parents were sure she was ready to handle the responsibility of watching after the house and her younger brother, Flint, when they took a week-long vacation. Cass took the job of babysitting her brother unwillingly and would rather she had been left totally alone to work on her project. (1)

The night following her parents' departure, she awoke to find that she had somehow transformed into a goat. (2) Quickly realizing that it was Morty's doing, she confronted him to change her back. The attempt to reverse her changes inadvertently caused her to change even more. She has learned there is no immediate cure for her condition. (3)

Frustrated, Cass decided to turn the tables on Morty. At a meeting with the Principal Monday morning--Cass' first day at school in her new form--she began to accuse Morty of his wrongdoings and condemn him to a fate she thought he deserved. She realized she could never go through with it, however, and backed out at the last second. She was shocked when Morty then picked up where she left off and made a full confession. (4)

Genetics Competition Project: She is perfecting a localized gene therapy that can permanently change the pigmentation of skin and hair cells. She is concentrating on selling the cosmetic uses, such as adjustable tattoos and permanent hair "dyes."

Flint is a middle-schooler with an inverse relationship of low grades and high cheer. He’s sometimes a non-stop chatterbox, sometimes a snarky brat, and sometimes a bitingly truthful observant. He spends his time at home pestering his older sister and watching television.

The night following his parents' departure, he awoke to find that he had somehow transformed into a flying squirrel. (1) Unlike his sister, Flint is taking the change with enthusiasm...perhaps even too much.

Morty is the diminutive son of one of the world’s leading geneticists, Narcissus Montovarius. He was home-tutored until he was 14, at which point his father enrolled him in the Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds. His ambition was to win first place in the Senior Genetics Competition, and then gloat about it.

Morty anticipated a visit from his newly-transformed nemesis, Cass. He used his father's nanobot technology to change her into a goat in part to distract her from working on her genetics project, and in part because he views her as one of his chief rivals and must do anything he can to demoralize her. What he didn't expect, however, was for Cass to forfeit the competition without a fight. (1)

This encounter forced Morty to evaluate his own methods and ideologies. He voluntarily confessed to the Principal, risking expulsion from the school. He has even agreed to help correct the turmoil he has caused. (2)

Genetics Competition Project: Morty's project for the competition is still unknown. The ray gun he used at the fundraiser has been disqualified, as it was based on a design by fellow competing student Noah Sonar.

Noah is a senior at the Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds, and a good friend of Cass.

The night of the fundraiser incident, Noah risked his own life to save a mutated Keris Attic from the building she was tearing apart. In order to brave the fires and save Keris, Noah had to inject himself with one of the untested serums he had been developing. (1)

The serum turned out to be unstable. It is slowly transforming Noah into a salamander. (2) Among the advantages his new form brings, he is able to crawl on walls and has great resistance to heat.

The machine that altered Keris was based on his own designs. Because of this, he has volunteered to rebuild it in the hopes of completely restoring her original form.

Genetics Competition Project: Noah is developing serums that, when injected, grant the user specific animal traits.

Demetrius is a friend of Cass' and a fellow senior at Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds. He is a savant in his field of biological studies. His intellect came with a steep price, however, in the form of acute aphasia. While capable of understanding the English language, he is unable to form sentences of his own. He can utter words one or two at a time, but considers doing so undignified. He prefers to remain completely silent and only communicate via single words scribbled on a notepad.

Genetics Competition Project: His project involves using bio-engineered creatures as ballistic weapons.

Thirteen was designed by Morty Montovarius as one of his many forays into the world of genetics. She is his first successful, fully-grown sentient creature, and as such he treats her like a companion rather than a pet. Thirteen idolizes her creator because of his intelligence and passion for his work. She insists on calling him "Master."

Despite her short time in the world, she has learned a great deal of scientific knowledge from Morty's research and is eager to help him in any way she can.

Ash is another senior at the Jennifer Attic Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds. He is often high-spirited and in a joking mood.

Ash works with Demetrius on his genetics project, mostly in a public relations capacity. (1) It is unclear whether Demetrius asked for his help, or if Ash appointed himself to the role. Regardless, Ash's outgoing personality can do nothing but benefit the silent Demeterius as he searches for private funding.

Genetics Competition Project: He is recklessly attaching extra body parts onto himself in order to test out a special gene therapy that will grant transplanted organs a 100%-acceptance rate. He has already attached another person's arms onto his torso. Unfortunately, though his body isn’t rejecting the new arms, the new arms are rejecting him.

Jen is the founder and headmaster of the Unassuming-Yet-Ridiculously-Well-Funded Private School for Burgeoning Scientific Minds. She holds a PhD in genetics and is well-known for her work mapping several forms of plant and animal DNA, including consultant work for the Human Genome Project.

Following the incident at the fundraiser, Jen became infuriated at both Morty and Cass, as the two had both been present when her daughter Keris was transformed. She demanded they appear in her office on Monday morning following an investigation she conducted. (1) Upon discovery of Cass' transformation, and Morty's subsequent confession, Jen expelled Morty from the school. (2)

Jen was later attacked by Keris, who had somehow transformed back into her more bestial form. (3) She is currently in critical condition, with possibly minutes left to live.

A former used-car salesman who—somehow—met and won the heart of scientific legend Jennifer Attic. His mid-life crisis has driven him to become an aspiring “filmmaker” who leeches off Jen’s vast fortune in order to pursue reckless and fruitless video endeavors. He is currently working on a documentary of his wife’s school.

Personal: Married to Dr. Jennifer Attic. Father of three children, including Keris Attic.

Keris is a senior at her mother’s private school. She is an untalented brat who thinks she’s much more deserving than she really is. Although she’s a knockout physically speaking, she still thinks she could appear prettier.

At a fundraiser for the Senior Genetics Competition, Morty tried to test his latest invention on Keris. Instead of only enhancing her female figure, however, a malfunction caused her Poodle's DNA to merge with her, creating a giant half-human, half-dog creation that then terrorized the event. Noah was able to reverse some of the changes, relieving the strain on her body and restoring her mental faculties. (1)

Three days later, Keris had been under observation when her DNA somehow mutated once again. She began growing in size and attacked Noah and her mother before running wild across the school. (2)

Genetics Competition Project: Her project is a haphazard combination of all sorts of beauty products designed to augment the body of its user. There is nothing specifically genetic about it, however, as Keris’ knowledge of how to manipulate genes is almost nonexistent.
